Jim and Michele Pridgeon are a wildlife sculptors from the Northern Black Hills of Wyoming and are the owners of Bear Lodge Studios. they has spent the last 25 years developing their one-of-a-kind technique in painted wood sculpture.

Jim has a degree in Fine Art from Black Hills State University. He is a retired Army Officer and former Marine. These experiences as well as his training as a Wild Land Firefighter have shown him how precious and unique our home is and the need to preserve and protect it. His art is a reflection of this philosophy in that by using fire and bug killed wood as his sculpture medium, he is utilizing a resource that would otherwise be wasted.

Michele, a native of Oklahoma and member of the Choctaw Tribe met Jim while he was stationed at Fort Sill Oklahoma. She lived all over the United States and Europe raising two sons and developing her art skills.  While stationed in Europe Michele  began painting Native American Pottery , latter combining her painting talents with Jim's carving producing truly remarkable pieces of Art. Her attention to detail brings out the fine detail of each of Jim's carving, producing pieces that are a combination of both a painting and a carving resulting in a truly unique piece of fine art.
